Specific focus on mathematics, our tutoring is designed around your child’s needs. Each child will be allowed to work at their own pace with individualized instruction (consultation with your elementary math teacher is an option, if needed). Homework assignments and additional problem solving assignments will be addressed. All levels of math, algebra or geometry through 8th grade are eligible for the class. ADULT BALLET 3 INTERMEDIATE LEVEL (AT LEAST 4-5 YEARS' EXPERIENCE):
For adults, who have seriously trained at one time or another and would like to get back into the discipline and art of ballet technique.
ADULT CONTEMPORARY OPEN LEVEL:
This class draws from a range of styles to build an eclectic movement stemming from modern dance techniques. In contrast to ballet, rather than resisting the pull of gravity by staying in a vertical position, we often release our weight, rebounding up/down from the floor. While we work to develop proper alignment, this class also emphasizes fluid, seamless transitions between shapes.
ADULT JAZZ (OPEN LEVEL):
Adults who want to have great fun learning with other adults. Class includes Broadway style jazz with a little bit of Funk mixed in.
ADULT TAP LEVEL 1 (LESS THAN ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE):
Continuation from previous term, adults with no tap experience. Students learn tap fundamentals with other adults. Great as a form of low-level cardio exercise.
ADULT TAP LEVEL 2 (AT LEAST ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE):
For adults who want to continue improving in their tap experience.
ADULT TAP LEVEL 3 (AT LEAST TWO YEARS' EXPERIENCE):
Adults will learn percussive patterns & combinations to contemporary music as well as the classics, based on years of technical practice.
ADULT TAP LEVEL 4 (AT LEAST 2-3 YEARS' EXPERIENCE):
Adults who have had extensive tap training will learn intricate tap combinations. Students will also explore choreography development as they relate to the rhythms of the music.
CARDIO EXPRESS FOR ADULTS:
All aboard the Cardio Express! This 30 minute cardio class is set to a fun upbeat music playlist. Sweat away those calories with easy to follow cardio choreography! You will get a total body workout while getting that heart pumping.
BALLET BODY FOR ADULTS:
This 30-minute workout class is a full body workout designed to elongate your muscles, strengthen your core & improve flexibility. Using the basic fundamentals of ballet & set to a fun music playlist with easy to follow routines, you are sure to leave this class with a better understanding of & appreciation for the muscles dancers use. * You may bring your own mat.
HATHA YOGA:
Uses postures & conscious breathing, in combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength and flexibility, and relaxation. Through proper alignment and mindful actions of the body, Hatha Yoga brings balance, strength and a sense of well being.
VINYASA YOGA:
Movement is synchronized to the breath & poses run smoothly together like a dance. This style allows for a lot of variety with movement & stretching.
ZUMBA:
A total workout, combining all elements of fitness - cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.
PILATES:
Exercise designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture, and enhance mental awareness. People at all levels of fitness benefit from Pilates training, ranging from the average person who wants to become more physically fit to the athlete who wants to improve performance. Regardless of your physical ability, the Pilates method teaches you a way of life: to sit better, to sleep better, to stand better. You will be stronger and more in control of your body.
POST-PARTUM GENTLE PILATES MAT CLASS:
This class will begin with the very beginning fundamentals of the Pilates method. We'll move slowly through the key principles of the foundational work, progressively adding gentle challenges as tolerated for each individual. A Perfect opportunity for new mothers who have been cleared by their practitioner to begin exercise. This class will help anyone who feels their core strength and stability compromised. Also, anyone who would like a primer on the basic principles of Pilates is also welcome! This will be a five-week series of classes; however, if there's interest to continue, folks can register for another five weeks and we'll keep going for the full 10-week term.
YOGA FOR EVERY BODY:
A gentle yoga practice designed for adult students of varied physical abilities, is taught in a clear constructive manner allowing each student to go at their own pace. Modifications are offered to soften or intensify the practice including the use of props. This gentle practice emphasizes breath awareness, physical postures to promote strength and balance, stretching & releasing tension from muscles & joints.
CHAIR YOGA:
This CHAIR YOGA class encourages a safe, effective and fun approach to healthy movement. Moving regularly enhances life and practicing yoga can help relieve a wide array of ailments. This gentle yoga class practice is designed to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities. No yoga experience required. Breathing practices and postures are done sitting in a chair and, for those who are able and interested, standing up and holding onto the chair for support.
BOYS:
All classes: White tee shirt, black shorts, black or white socks, black ballet shoes for ballet or jazz classes, black tap shoes for tap classes. The dress code for homework and computer lab is comfortable, but modest (non-revealing) clothing. Please: no T-shirts or sweatshirts with wording or graphics that some might find offensive.
